"Spring Play in the Tang Garden," also known as "Five Cats," is a handscroll painting attributed to Zhu Zhanji, the Emperor Xuanzong of the Ming Dynasty. The artwork, measuring 37.5 x 264.2 cm, is executed on paper and is currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The painting depicts five cats, each with unique postures and fur patterns, exuding an irresistible charm and playful innocence. The background features a vibrant garden scene with bamboo, orchids, thorns, and vines, all flourishing in the warmth of spring, accompanied by blooming flowers that evoke a sense of harmony and vitality.

Zhu Zhanji, the fifth emperor of the Ming Dynasty, is historically celebrated for his effective governance, a period known as the "Ren-Xuan Prosperity." However, despite the painting's attribution to him, its style, inscriptions, and seals raise questions about its authenticity, leading scholars to conclude that it is not a genuine work by Emperor Xuanzong. Nonetheless, the artwork remains a delightful and charming representation of feline playfulness and the beauty of nature.

《唐苑嬉春图》又名《五狸奴图》，绘五只猫咪形态不一，毛发不一，憨态十足，可爱至极！后院中竹兰、荆棘、藤蔓生机勃勃，花儿绽放，一派春和景明。朱瞻基，宣宗，明代第五代政绩不错的皇帝，史称“仁宣之治”。此幅无论画风，题款，钤印皆有问题，非宣德帝真迹。
